In Celestially Yours you play as Maggie, an elderly woman who recently lost her sister. After a lifetime of finding their own made-up constellations on their travels together, your goal is to repair an old star chart that her and her sister spent so many years creating but that has been worn and damaged over time.

This game is a submission to the 3rd Pursuing Pixels' James Jam Game Gam (2024), a week-long game jam created and run by Pursuing Pixels! The jam's theme was "Parallel". Our team decided to explore the idea of parallel by having our protagonist re-visit and re-experience events of the past in the present time.

Your goal is to repair the star chart with your father's old photo negatives that are provided in each corner of the chart. The negatives contain stars that fill in the missing stars to the constellation but also align with other existing stars on the chart.

Be careful! Some photo negatives are spares, and aren't necessary to solve the puzzle. If you get stuck be sure to click on the objects nearby - they will tell you about the trip and give a hint about what the constellation might be.

Controls:

Left Click: Picks up a photo negative or interacts with objects

Right Click: Rotates the photo negative 90 degrees clockwise.

Super wholesome game, I wasn’t ready for the feelings when I started it!

Puzzles felt nice (after I remembered that you can rotate, my bad on that) and the story to back it up is charming!

Kinda wish there was more to it, could spend hours on games like this.

Graphically it hits home as I really like the rough “pencil/crayon” like brushes in art and the splash arts are amazingly executed, well done!

Background track is also a beautifull piece, I could gaze at the sky for hours playing it. Amazing job!

This is a beautiful game! I too was a little confused at first, but once I got the hang of it it was very enjoyable.

I did notice one thing, which I will post below so others don't see it as easily:

Pressing D shows which pieces are red herrings and when they are turned to the correct angles. I was messing around with the buttons before I realized I needed to right click and found this.

Thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked it despite being confused at first. And thanks for pointing that info out. We are aware it's still there but ran out of time and had to upload so there are a couple buttons like that.

Heartfelt and absolutely touching! The story, the art, and how it plays just worked beautifully together.

Thank you Ri!! So glad you liked it :)

very heartwarming and unique type of game!

although it is fact that I was confused for some time...., this game will be one of my good memories.

Sorry for the confusion but I am glad to hear you enjoyed it.

It's only my own think but, if you add some kind of tutorial (like guiding how the game is played with image for practice), nearly all people can enjoy your game, I guess.

again, thank you for making this fantastic game :3

That was really sweet!

Thank you! :)

Lovely :-)

Thank you so much!! :)

Y’all really knocked it out of the park with this one!!! The story is touching, the art is gorgeous, and I really enjoyed putting the map back together. Great work everyone 🫶

Thank you Fletch!! Really appreciate the kind words!
